(500) Days of Summer
(500)Days of Summer is a great relationship movie. Done in a way that we actually remember relationships. We don't remember it in the order that it happens, we remember the good times and the bad times all mixed together.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt turns in a great performance as the boy who falls in love with the girl who doesn't believe in love(Zoey Deschanel). After seeing a movie like this we can almost forgive him for Cobra Commander...almost. If you haven't yet caught on to JGL, then google him and check out his movies.
Zoey Deschanel is the girl that he falls in love with, who doesn't believe in love. I really liked the movie, now that being said, how the hell does she keep working? She does well but I just don't like the dead pan, locked look, pushing lines past her mouth, trying to have it move as little as possible...thing. Alexis Bledel(Gilmore Girls) does the same thing. Its horrible, she almost ruined Sin City for me...actually it was more like finding a piece of pepper in a great meal. A "Oh what's this doing in my filet mignon?" finish the meal and forget that it was their.
Back to the movie. Now most of us have been in this type of relationship, whether its being on the side that falls in love or the one that likes the person but doesn't fall in love with them. It sucks and its sad and FML! but luckily it was made into a really good movie. All around everyone does a great job in the movie, even the ones I don't like as an actress, and its worth the rent and if nothing else it will give you lines to say to others:
"Roses are red, violets are blue...You Fucking Whore!"
